Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about establishing your business in the United Arab Emirates.

How Long Does It Take to Set Up a Company in the UAE?

The timeline depends on the type of business structure you choose. A Free Zone company can typically be established within 1–2 weeks, while a Mainland company generally takes 3–4 weeks, depending on the approvals and regulatory requirements involved.

Not necessarily. Free Zones allow 100% foreign ownership. In addition, recent legislative changes permit 100% foreign ownership for many Mainland business activities.

It depends on the license and jurisdiction. Many Free Zones offer Flexi-Desk or shared workspace options that satisfy the legal requirements without the need to rent a full physical office.

Mainland company can operate throughout the UAE’s local market without restrictions. A Free Zone company is primarily designed for international business and is subject to certain limitations when selling directly into the local UAE market without using a local distributor.
